Supermarkets could save a lot of money and a ton of energy. When we make virtual supermarket it’s also much better for the environment. The food is store on one central location. In the store is a wall with barcodes where you can scan the desired products with an app on you mobile phone. You pay off your digital shopping list and they deliver right away. If you want to order the same products again you don’t have to visit the store but you order it with the application wherever you are.
The first virtual supermarket opened last year in Korea. Since then, virtual stores have opened in the UK, China, Japan and the US.
This concept combines online and offline shopping. These worlds are growing close together. Previously we said we were going on the internet, these days we are always online. The concept also responds well to the trend sustainability. This concept is perfect for the environment. We live in an increasingly virtual world. Pictures tells you more than just words.
